Description

Rhinella marina, or cane toad, is a large amphibian native to Central and South America.
Recognizable by its warty skin and prominent eye ridges, it can grow up to 9
inches (23 cm) long. Introduced to various regions for pest control, it has
become an invasive species, threatening local wildlife due to its toxicity.
Cane toads are primarily nocturnal and feed on a wide range of prey, including
insects and small mammals. They breed in stagnant water, laying thousands of
eggs, which contributes to their rapid population growth and ecological impact
in non-native areas.<o:p></o:p>
