Small trees. Leaves orbicular, acutely 5-7-lobed. Flowers in terminal panicles and leaf opposed cymes. Petals 5, yellow, clawed, pitted glandular at base. Capsules triquetrous with winged angles, cordate at base, woody, dehiscent, faces covered with prickles arising from broad bases.
