A profusely branched tree, branched approximtely 90 degree to main stem. Stem bark dark brown coloured vertically fissured. Flowers yellow, in globose heads.

Pods moniliform, compressed, constricted at the sutures between the seeds, densely grey tomentose.

Young shoots of plants are eaten for teeth and gum strengthening.
