Perennial geophytes. Roots tuberous. Leaves rosettes, lanceolate, sessile, dark green above, glaucous green below. Scape 30 – 65 cm tall, solitary. Flowers white, pedicellate. Perianth segments 6, in two whorls of 3 each, white. Stamens 6, anthers yellow. Capsule green, triquetrous, seeds black.
