This
plant is native to the Indian subcontinent and is commonly found in tropical
and subtropical regions.
A
moderate sized tree. Stem branched, branches 4 angled, bark greyish. Leaves
ovate, scabrid, shortly acumnate at apex, base round to cuneate, margins
toothed. Flowers in corymb, white with orange corolla tube, sweet scent.
Interestingly, the flowers bloom at night and fall off in the early morning,
which adds to their allure.. Fruit flat, compressed, apporx. circular.
